About
the Partners
The
mission of the American
Red Cross-Greater Buffalo Chapter is to
improve the quality of human life; to enhance self-reliance
and concern for others; and to help people avoid, prepare
for and cope with emergencies. For more than 90 years, the
American Red Cross-Greater Buffalo Chapter has been assisting
the local community through programs and services provided
by both staff and a volunteer workforce of upwards of 1,000
people.
For
the past 20 years, the Chapter has provided services to seniors
and has worked diligently to achieve the same level of community
trust and recognition in this line of services it has in others.
In recent years, the Chapter has begun to expand its program
offerings in Senior Services to include in-home assistance
to frail elderly, Medicare/Medicaid fraud prevention training
and training for family caregivers.
WNED's
mission is to inform, inspire, entertain and educate its publics.
In concert with ThinkBright, its new digital learning service,
Buffalo 's public broadcasting stations provide a forum for
exploring community issues and interests relevant to our bi-national
region. As a catalyst for community engagement and empowerment,
WNED and ThinkBright are proud to partner on this timely,
Life Journeys - Solutions for Caregivers television
and outreach initiative.
